JASON ORANS, BRIAN DEVINEGIGANTIC PICTURES

In the last two years New York City based independent producers Jason Orans/Brian Devine/Gigantic Pictures has produced: FLANNEL PAJAMAS starring Justin Kirk and Julianne Nicholson (2006 Sundance Film Festival Dramatic Competition); GOODBYE BABY; YEAR OF THE FISH (2007 Sundance Film Festival); and SATELLITE (2005 Tribeca Film Festival).

Gigantic is currently in post-production on THE TOE TACTIC which was developed at the Sundance Institute. Current projects include THE TWO CHRISTAS in development with HDNet, DARE which Gigantic is producing with Mary Jane Skalski (THE STATION AGENT) and a new feature from celebrated writer-director Ramin Bahrani (MAN PUSH CART).

Previous films include Nisha Ganatra’s COSMOPOLITAN written by Sabrina Dhawan (MONSOON WEDDING) and THE SUITOR directed by Julia Solomonoff (SISTERS). Orans produced the U.S. units of the international feature films L’AUTRE, ALEXANDRIA… NEW YORK, and HELLO AMERICA (Egypt), and LAST LOVE (Japan). Clients include Canal Plus, Arte, HBO, Hart Sharp Video.

Gigantic also owns a music recording studio, a post production sound facility, a music and DVD label and an independent theatrical distribution arm.

DANIEL SCHECHTERRENART FILMS – WRITER/DIRECTOR is the writer and Executive Producer of the feature THE BIG BAD SWIM (2006 Tribeca Film Festival and is currently playing film festivals around the world.) His previous scripts for THE GOOD LIFE and THE COUNSELOR both received the Best Screenplay Awards at Emerson College’s prestigious Evvy Awards Ceremony. He has worked for Premiere Magazine as a segment editor, Scout Productions (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) and The New York Film Academy. Daniel is the co-founder of Renart Films with Tim Duff.

TIM DUFFRENART FILMS – PRODUCER After producing several short films (including his Evvy Award-winning, directorial debut CONFESSIONAL) Tim graduated from Emerson College. In the next few years Tim worked for several production companies (including Tom Hanks’s Playtone Productions (MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING) and ABC Sports). In the summer of 2005, while working on the feature film THE BIG BAD SWIM, Duff met writer/director Daniel Schechter. Tim then helped develop, raise financing for and eventually produce Schechter’s next film, GOODBYE BABY (starring Alan Ruck, Kevin Corrigan and Christine Evangelista). It was during this time Duff helped establish his production company, Renart Films, in the summer of 2006. After producing BABY with Gigantic Pictures, Tim then went solo for his next project, producing THE PROJECT for writer/director Ryan Piotrowicz. Tim is currently developing new projects and relationships for Renart while working in New York City and living in Brooklyn.

STEPHANE WREMBELCOMPOSER was raised in Fontainebleau, France, and studied at the American School of Music in Paris and the Berklee College of Music. Known for performing traditional and Django inspired gypsy jazz, his quartet Manoque was awarded Best Young Band at Festival Jazz d’Avon in 1999 and in 2000. Wrembel had the honor of performing at the Tzigane Circus for the “Festival of the Imagination”, the Jazzforville Festival and he appears every year at the Django Reinhardt Festival, playing with the gypsies. Wrembel plays regularly in New England and New York City and has just completed recording his second US album.

JOSH SILFEN – DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY has been shooting films since graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2001. After shooting the feature THE BIG BAD SWIM, which was written and executive produced by Daniel Schechter, Josh re-teamed with Schechter for his directorial debut, GOODBYE BABY. More recently, Josh was on location in Buffalo, NY, shooting THE DISSECTION OF THANKSGIVING, a dysfunctional family comedy-drama set in the 1980s and starring Oscar-nominee Kathleen Quinlan. Josh currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
